coastal forests: vulnerability to sea level rise, 2023

Designer, USDA Northeast Climate Hub, Figma

During my internship with the USDA Northeast Climate Hub, I developed visual content related to climate-smart agriculture and forestry in the Northeast region of the United States. Drawing crucial information from a vulnerability assessment produced by Rutgers University in partnership with the USDA, I created an infographic which was shared on the USDA website.

I chose a flow-chart style structure to guide the reader through important facts and figures and used a variety of colors and weights to make key information stand out. I was not given any particular branding guidelines, so I had complete creative freedom. However, my supervisors and other individuals attached to this research helped me in the revision process, particularly with USDA-appropriate wording and messaging. Below is a link to access the project on the USDA website, the design, as well as a screenshot of the design in context.
