Beverages, bacteria, and brushing
Designer, NEU Info Design Studio Principles course project, 2024
In my Info Design Studio Principles course at Northeastern University, I developed a data visualization of my teeth-brushing habits, beverage intake, and fermented food consumption. This assignment focused on personal data collection over a 10-day period, prioritized the iteration and testing process, and emphasized the importance of designing for certain audiences.
While the project started as simple data tracking about when I brushed my teeth, what I drank, and what I ate, the final product shows the effective and ineffective aspects of my oral hygiene habits and is targeted towards medical/health professionals, who might be interested in my personal care. I used a variety of charts and graphs, a simple monospace typeface, and concisely written blurbs to highlight my good and bad habits in order to appeal to professionals. I used Figma to complete this project.
